The scrolling on the OnePlus 10 Pro is bad, and OnePlus should feel bad

This has started happening on my OnePlus 6 recently so I don't think this is a OnePlus 10... moreIt won't be the same problem on your OnePlus 6 because the refresh frate on your device is fixed 60hz. This problem is only on variable refresh rate screens that can work as low as 1hz.

Staying away from OnePlus on my next phone. No 120hz gaming and now this it's becoming a joke.

The issue is not alone with OnePlus but also at Instagram and how it works on phones with variable refresh rate. The issue only started more recently after an Instagram update sometime in March.

You can install an Instagram Feb apk; the one I have has the code 230.0 something (where's currently Instagram app code is some 238 range) .

I'd go as far as saying that with the latest 238 update, it seems to have improved somewhat. Mine is Instagram beta version, so give that a try.

That said, still, it's not as good at 230 or even you force 120hz at all times on the device. I keep faith that Instagram cam resolve this soon.

I always love android. But scrolling is laggy in every phone. Especially play store.Smooth like silk for me on both my phones. Realme x7 max and Realme GT..

This has started happening on my OnePlus 6 recently so I don't think this is a OnePlus 10 Pro specific issue.

The screen just doesn't seem to be quick enough to turn back the refresh rate to full 120... moreYes indeed. Sony is much more inferior compared to samsung.

No, that hasn't been a thing since like 2012. Google admitted it was a thing last year at their I/O event 😂

No, that hasn't been a thing since like 2012. Mine lags, even on a recent flagship

Wonder if changing your cpu/gpu governor would help, if you have root. so it doesnt ramp up an... moreI have a 9 pro, on oxygen OS it had microstuttering but not to the degree on the 10. I flashed a custom ROM shortly after (imo the best feature/USP about the current OnePlus software experience is they don't care in the slightest bit if you swap it for something else) at which point the micro stuttering got a bit worse and tweaking the CAF CPU boost option in a kernel manager was a must do. I am amazed it's gotten even worse, there are so many complaints about the 9 series have both micro stuttering when scrolling and a slow as molasses scrolling speed which was the poor man's fix for the microstuttering that they implemented. Why they didn't just tweak the kernel or something, idk. My current ROM clearly has, and it's a joy to use

The pro-i is sadly disappointing in many ways. But I love its squared screen instead of the rounded corners we see on every other phone!

So glad other people are noticing this. I am so sick of it. The phone has next gen tech and hardware but it lags more than my Galaxy S2 ever did. It's terrible. In apps like Tinder, it lags so hard even just whilst typing, that some apps will just crash. The phone is an outright joke and the quality of these devices has dropped so much since the OnePlus 6 that it's just atrocious. Prices went up and quality never improved. I will return mine next week and get a Samsung.

Android 12 overscroll is bad and Google should feel bad. Literally slower to scroll and use the phone and it's a more resource hungry animation. While the animation is being rendered, you can't tap any buttons or anything on the screen. You have to wait.

  • instagram sucks

  • L1w

the software is slow, the search is bad, there is no point for hastags, if was useless 8 years ago and still is today.

I'm unsure if this problem is on other phones too, I see some people here in the comment saying that the Galaxy S20's screen has problems with scrolling too. Although that phone was from 2 years ago and they MIGHT have fixed the problem on their newer phones by now. Keyword, might.

It would be nice to see a comparison between the OnePus 10 Pro's scrolling and other phone's scrolling to see if this is just a OnePlus moment™ or if this is a wider spread issue with VRR (variable refresh rate).

Also, I dunno if there is an option in the phone's settings to turn VRR off and just use 120hz.

Lost interest in OP after OP 8 pro.. Maybe the last phone with proper Oxygen OS

I stick with SONY
Much more comfortable and reliable

I don't know what's happening here but browsing gsmarena on any phone is a pain!yeah. that is why i only read articles of gsmarena in laptop or desktop. ☺

Can this guy post the same test with the s22 ultra cause I feel like the phone lags in every app for me.

This is the reason I switched to the iPhone. I missed the old days.
